This 12 unit small lot project, located in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles was coined by Forbes as the “best hipster town in America”. It features a mix of three-story homes and a two-story corner home. The cluster of homes with three plan types arranged around a motor court conceals the garage doors and create a series of inviting building façades that engage with the surrounding streetscape and neighborhood.
Private balconies and rooftop terraces, provide residents and guests the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather and take in the spectacular surrounding city skyline views, adding to the project lifestyle component.
The project architecture is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Spanish courtyard buildings found throughout Southern California and consistent with the existing neighborhood buildings. Plaster walls with flat roofs are punctuated by pitched barrel tile roofs, wood detailed balconies and wrought iron details. A cohesive, neutral color palette consistent with the Spanish architectural vernacular and lush landscaping act as unifying themes of the project.
