Kevin R. Newman

CEO/Creative Director

Since acquiring Newman Garrison + Partners (“NG+P) in 2005, Kevin Newman has served as CEO and Creative Director of the Los Angeles-based, award-winning architecture, urban planning, and interior design studio. Throughout his 40-year career, Kevin has been recognized as an industry leader and changemaker given his innovative design solutions for high-density, mixed-use, urban infill, and resort projects nationally and internationally.

Kevin leads the firm’s creative design studio, as well as managing the day-to-day operations for NG+P. With a primary focus on diversifying the firm’s portfolio to include hospitality, mixed-use, mid-and high-rise residential  and urban development, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge to the architecture, planning, and design process.

In 2017, after nearly seven years, Kevin successfully patented an urban-infill design solution known as “New Block” which is a lower-cost, sustainable concept designed for smaller urban sites. The patented approach creates the potential for value in parcels that traditionally have been ignored by builders for economic reasons, allowing for more open space and livability within the multifamily housing sector.

Kevin offers a distinctive approach to residential and commercial design, helping clients achieve their goals by embracing a commitment to progressive, individualized, and sustainable practices. His in-depth understanding of varying vernaculars is emblematic across NG+P’s work, which has garnered numerous local, regional, and national awards.

Kevin has been the recipient of several industry accolades including the prestigious Gold Nugget award, MultiHousing News, Multifamily Executive, NAHB Pillars of Industry, and Best in American Living for design excellence. He has spoken at a number of conferences including PCBC and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He is also a member of ULI, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and BIA Chapters of Los Angeles and Orange County.
