This 70 unit affordable housing development is an exceptional public/private achievement, is family oriented, and has a LEED for Homes – Gold Rating. Newman Garirison & Partners was in the forefront of creating what is known today as the “Wrap” high-density solution and the most recently acclaimed, patented and innovative “New Block” urban in-fill prototype.

NG+P’s initial goal with this concept was to develop a design that was economically feasible for land owners and developers to build and to maximize density on smaller parcels that had previously been left undeveloped. We also needed to capture the important sustainability, open space and livability aspects of multi-family urban village housing.

The result is an ingenious approach which embraces each of these critical elements and provides a viable product that can be affordably built in today’s economic climate. This concept is 100% covered surfaced parking with 24,343 sq ft of open space. The one, two and three bedroom units range from 650-1150 sq ft.

The 20,000 sq ft. green roof incorporates a LiveRoof® to promote biodiversity and carbon sequestration, an Imagination Playground to encourage cognitive & social abilities, barbecue & picnic areas, and walking trail. Included in this concept is a community center with a fitness room, tutoring & computer lab, and kitchen & laundry facilities.
